Volunteering with Doctors Without Borders

A word from Dr. Wan:

The reason I became a doctor is to help people, especially those desperately in need. Volunteering for Doctors Without Borders helped me fulfill that dream. It was everything I had hoped for, and basically what doctoring should be about. My life-changing experience in Liberia and Sudan not only made me a better doctor, but also a better person. I encountered many diseases that I would have never seen if I only practiced medicine in the US, and I had to rely a lot more on my physical exam skills because I had no laboratory tests to help me with making diagnoses. That really made me appreciate the resources I have here to help me provide better care for my patients.

They are truly an incredible organization, which is why even though I am not able to volunteer with them anymore, I still donate to them. So please join me in supporting their cause -
donate here! Thank you!
